Financial Advantage Associates, Inc. is a Rockville, MD benefits and investment firm that is highly unique in that we specialize in the not-for-profit marketplace. Therefore, we understand the unique issues and needs of not-for-profit organizations and executives. In addition, we are a smaller, "boutique" type firm and have a close-knit team approach to client service. Typically, several professionals within our firm are working together as a team with each client. We currently work with approximately 50 not-for-profit associations, providing the following services:
- Deferred Compensation- for "top hat" executives who have reached the maximum contribution limits within their 401(k) or 403(b) plans, we help establish a comprehensive, board-friendly salary deferral program that helps to reduce taxes and puts investment dollars to much harder work. This is an important offering to association executives. It is also a highly under-utilized benefit and one that most executives typically regret not taking greater advantage of for themselves.
- Asset Management- we specialize in serving the unique asset management needs of not-for-profit executives and boards, specifically by partnering with executives and boards to design and implement investment policy statements. We introduce your organization to investment strategies for organizational assets that makes the executive staff and the board "partners", thereby making market changes less job-threatening.
- Charitable Planned Giving- we provide comprehensive services that enable organizations to enhance their ability to increase current contributions, as well as secure future charitable gifts. Utilizing an array of advanced planning techniques, we can help donors leave gifts of highly appreciated assets in a tax efficient manner. We can also help donors establish present and long-term sources of income to help sustain the mission of the organization. We may serve as an organization's Charitable Planned Giving Department, or supplement existing fundraising operations.
- Staff Benefits- we put together comprehensive benefit programs for organization staff in the areas of health, life, disability and long term care insurance, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, etc. We provide a highly consultative approach, which, in many cases, results in improved benefit design features, lower costs, and enhanced administrative services. In addition, we provide voluntary (employee-paid) benefits at rates and with features (e.g. guaranteed issue, simplified underwriting, guaranteed renewablility, etc.*) that are often more favorable than those which employees could procure on their own. We also provide comprehensive financial strategies seminars and services for employees at no additional cost.
- Member Benefits- we put together unique programs for associations that benefit their membership and, at the same time, help them establish a source of non-dues revenue. Since not-for-profit organizations vary greatly in their membership composition, we offer a highly customized approach for these services, enabling our clients to structure benefit programs that their members truly consider valuable and will utilize to a significant extent.
