Tyler Gillies

Tyler, Director of Investment Services, runs the Investment Center at Financial Advantage. He graduated from University of Maryland with a Finance degree and started with the firm as a Financial Advisor working closely with the firm’s President. As FAA continued to grow, an opportunity presented itself for him to transition into an internal role and build out the investment resources of the firm. He rose to this occasion and developed an in-depth portfolio suite for the advisors and their clients. He now manages the investment services for the firm including trading, investment research and analysis, proposal creation, and case consults among other tasks. In 2023, Tyler passed the Series 24, General Securities Principal Exam, and became a director at FAA. With his support, the firm continues to grow each year and provides excellent service to the advisors and their clients.

Away from the office, Tyler is an avid traveler. He was born in California, then moved to Nevada, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, and then back to Maryland again. When he left Washington state to come to school in Maryland, he decided not to fly and instead drove to see more of the United States. In his free time, he continues to travel the world. He has been to over 15 countries and his dream is to see as much of other cultures as he can. When he isn’t traveling, he likes to spend time with his family and go on hikes in the various nature parks the DMV area has to offer.
